In Canada Nov. 11th is a day we remember those veterans that sacrificed their lives in order to give us the freedom's we enjoy. Our current battle to preserve these freedoms still continues and we must not forget the sacrifices our current men and women are making.
My fellow members of the PPABC last year orchestrated a portrait session at various Legion's around the lower mainland to honour our vet's by creating a portrait of them which they were given. I was privileged to have met and photographed a small group during which time they talked briefly about their tour of duty. The gentleman's images your are about to view is of Ken and he was stationed on one of our cruisers that protected supply ships going through the English Channel. The uniform Ken is wearing is the same uniform he was issued when he signed up for WW2 and it looked as good as the day he received it and it fit perfectly.
The numbers of veterans from past conflicts diminishes every day which is why we need to remember them not only on Nov.11th but every day.
